Jerzy Janowicz has produced a fine performance in the second round of the Rotterdam Open to knock out the sixth seed Tommy Haas on Thursday afternoon 6-4 6-4.
In the opening set there were very few opportunities for either player to break, but after saving one break point in the seventh game Haas was finally behind in the ninth before Janowicz served out the set.
The second set was a much more open affair, with Haas almost broken at the first time of asking but managing to hold well.
However, in a lengthy fifth game that went to deuce four times, Janowicz managed the crucial break which was enough to move into the third round.
