Daniel Nalbandian has been disqualified from the final of Queen's after the Argentine injured a line judge in the second set against Marin Cilic.

The 30-year-old kicked an advertising board in frustration midway through the second set, injuring a line judge.

Nalbandian claimed the opening set 7-6 on a tie-break. Meanwhile, Cilic had moved a break ahead 4-3 in the second before the incident.

Boos erupted around the court as Nalbandian's name was read, however, Cilic received a more favourable reception.

Cilic told the BBC: "It is not the way that I wanted to win it... I cannot change it and I am really sorry for the guys here."

Meanwhile, Nalbandian stated: "I am very sorry to do that. Sometimes you get very frustrated here and you have to control that. Sometimes I do a mistake. It is a very tough moment."

When questioned on whether he feels that he should have been allowed to continue, he added: "I don't know."

Cilic, 23, wins the title by default.
