Former world number one Roger Federer has recorded a straight-sets victory over Frenchman Adrian Mannarino at the Paris Open this afternoon.
Mannarino started the contest brightly, but Federer managed to secure an early break before taking the opening set 6-2.
The next set mirrored the first, with Federer continuing the good form that he produced in Basel last week to wrap up a 6-2 6-3 win in under an hour.
Federer will take on number 16 seed Richard Gasquet in round three of a competition that he has never managed to win.
