The Spaniard last played a competitive match at Wimbledon, losing in the second round to Lukas Rosol.
The 26-year-old wrote on his Facebook page: "My first tennis practice after all these weeks. Getting better and hope to continue with the positive trend."
The world number four missed the Olympics and the US Open as a result of the partial tear in his patella tendon, but is hopeful of making the Australian Open in January.
