Andy Murray says that finally winning a Grand Slam will allow him to concentrate on other tournaments during the year.

Andy Murray has said that his US Open win has given him a chance to reset some of his career goals.

The Scot insisted that he can now aim for more consistency throughout the year, rather than concentrating solely on the Grand Slam events.

"During the year there have been certain matches where I haven't done myself justice," he told ESPN. "So I felt after the US Open it was time to reset some goals.

"I don't want to say I was obsessed with grand slams, but winning one was so important I was always looking ahead to the next one.

"Now I can concentrate better throughout the year and not take my eye off the ball in any tournament."
