Andy Murray admits that he was disappointed with his performance after losing to Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets at the Monte Carlo Masters.

World number two Andy Murray has admitted that he made too many errors against Stanislas Wawrinka during his straight-sets defeat in the Monte Carlo Masters.

Murray was no match for his Swiss opponent, winning just three games, and the Scot has revealed that he felt like he gifted the match to the world number 17.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "I made a lot of mistakes. I think I made 24 unforced errors, which is far too many. That is where half of the points were won.

"He served well, but when I started making errors, I started leaving the ball shorter, and he was able to dictate all of the points from there, and on clay, that makes it so much easier for my opponent."

Wawrinka will now play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, after the Frenchman beat Jurgen Melzer.
