Simona Halep has beaten Karolina Pliskova in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open.
The third seed encountered some resistance from the Czech, but broke her opponent twice on the way to taking the opening set 6-4.
Although Pliskova managed to break Halep's serve twice during the Indian Wells contest, the Romanian proved too strong, claiming the second set by the same score and wrapping up the match.
Halep will take on Carla Suarez Navarro in the last eight following the Spaniard's 7-6 3-6 6-1 win over Heather Watson of Great Britain.
