Czech Republic win pivotal doubles rubber in Davis Cup final

The Czech Republic are just one win away from retaining the Davis Cup following Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek's 6-2 6-4 7-6 victory over Nenad Zimonjic and Ilija Bozoljac.

The Czech Republic moved closer to retaining the Davis Cup on Saturday as Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek beat Nenad Zimonjic and Ilija Bozoljac 6-2 6-4 7-6 in Belgrade.

The result means that the Czechs are now 2-1 ahead and will be crowned champions if they win in either of tomorrow's singles matches.

Berdych faces Novak Djokovic in the first of Sunday's rubbers, before Stepanek takes on world number 117 Dusan Lajovic, who replaced Janko Tipsarevic after the 29-year-old pulled out of the event with a heel injury.

Djokovic has beaten Berdych in 14 of their 16 meetings, while Stepanek and Lajovic have never previously played each other.
