David Ferrer into Cincinnati Open final

World number six David Ferrer beats Julien Benneteau 6-3 6-2 to advance to the final of the Cincinnati Open.

David Ferrer has booked his place in the final of the Cincinnati Open by defeating Julien Benneteau in straight sets.

The opener went the way of serve until the seventh game when Benneteau was edged out, allowing his Spanish opponent to get a foothold and eventually prevail 6-3.

The world number six made light work of the second set, taking it 6-2 in a time of 32 minutes after seeing Benneteau lose serve on two occasions.

Earlier today Andy Murray was knocked out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage following defeat at the hands of Roger Federer.
