Caroline Wozniacki dispatched of Lourdes Dominguez Lino in just over an hour to safely progress to the second round of the Australian Open.
The Danish star failed to reach the last eight of any Grand Slam last year, but avoided exiting the Melbourne major at the first stage with a straight-sets thumping of her Spanish opponent.
Former world-number-one Wozniacki was almost flawless in the opening set as she won every game in the process of losing only three points on her own serve, although she did save a break point at 2-0.
She could not do the same in the early stages of the second, though, as Dominguez Lino, currently ranked number 69 in the world, claimed a break to go 2-1 up, only for Wozniacki to respond in style.
The 2009 US Open finalist reeled off five games in a row to charge to a convincing 6-0 6-2 victory in 68 minutes, setting up a second-round meeting with either Christina McHale or Yung-Jan Chan.
