Sloane Stephens unfazed by Serena Williams clash

American teenager Sloane Stephens insists that she will treat her maiden Grand Slam quarter-final against Serena Williams as "just another match".

American teenager Sloane Stephens has insisted that she will treat her first Grand Slam quarter-final as "just another match", despite being drawn to play Serena Williams.

Stephens overcame Bojana Jovanovski in three sets at the Australian Open today to make the last eight on her debut in Melbourne.

The 19-year-old believes that she can maintain her composure and test the five-time Aussie Open winner when they meet on Wednesday.

She said: "She's obviously one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Without all that, it's still a tennis match.

"You have to go out and play your game, no matter what. Without the titles, with the titles, it's still a tennis match.

"The court's the same size. You're still playing a regular person across the net. You've just got to go out and play."

Williams made the quarter-finals this morning by thrashing Russian challenger Maria Kirilenko in straight sets.
