Roger Federer is hoping for more success in London in 2012.

Roger Federer has said that he is hoping for a 'something special' at the ATP World Tour Masters this week.

The world number two opened his challenge this afternoon with a comfortable straight-sets win over Janko Tipsarevic.

After the match, Federer said: "I'm very happy to be playing so well.

"It's my third trip to London this year. The other two were pretty special and I hope something similar is going to happen this week."

The Swiss player claimed his 17th Grand Slam victory earlier this year in London at Wimbledon before making it to the final of the Olympic tennis tournament.

Federer also faces David Ferrer and Juan Martin del Potro in his half of the draw.
