Liam Pitchford pleased with comfortable win

Team England's Liam Pitchford reveals that he was pleased with how comfortablly he and teammate Tin-Tin Ho beat Vanuatu in their mixed doubles opener at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England's Liam Pitchford has admitted that he was pleased with his and teammate Tin-Tin Ho's performance in their mixed doubles win over Vanuatu at the Commonwealth Games.

The duo defeated the team of Ham Lulu and Pareina Matariki in straight sets to ease to victory in the second round of the competition.

Pitchford told reporters: "It was nice to get a game really, we know it wasn't going to be that difficult. It was the first time we had played together and it went well.

"The coaches decided it was one of our best chances to take a medal so we have been practicing in the camps and this was the first real competitive match."

Pitchford and Ho take on the Wales team of Ryan Jenkins and Charlotte Carey in the third round of the event.
