USA top World Swimming Championships medal table

The United States finish the World Swimming Championships at the top of the table with eight golds and 23 totals medals from the meeting in Kazan.

The United States have finished the 2015 World Swimming Championships at the top of the medal table after securing 23 podium finishes in the pool in Kazan.

The Americans did not add to their eight golds on the final day of competition at the meeting, but their performances earlier in the week, including four individual golds for Katie Ledecky, ensured that they finished top.

Australia's 16-medal meeting, including seven golds, was enough for the Oceania nation to finish second in the standings, while victory in the final event of the championships moved China above Great Britain to secure third.

Britain finished the tournament with nine medals, including five golds.
