Great Britain's Fran Halsall qualfies third fastest for the 50m butterfly final at the World Championships in Kazan.

Great Britain's Fran Halsall will try to add a World medal to her collection after qualifying third-fastest for tomorrow's 50m freestyle final at the World Championships in Kazan.

In her semi-final, Halsall, who snatched gold in this event in last year's Commonwealth Games, kept with Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom to touch the wall second in 25.71s.

Double European champion Sjostrom, who clinched silver in the 100m freestyle earlier in the session, led the race from start to finish to clock the fastest overall time of 25.06s.

Jeanette Ottesen of Denmark will head into the final as second fastest.
