Great Britain's Louise Watkin finishes first in the women's S9 100m freestyle heat and qualifies alongside teammate Lauren Steadman, while Claire Cashmore misses out.

Great Britain's Louise Watkin has won her heat in the women's S9 100m freestyle event in impressive fashion at the Aquatics Centre.

The British hopeful, who snatched bronze in last night's SM9 200m medley final, took an early lead in the pool but was under pressure from Spain's Sarai Gascon.

Watkin had a better turn after the first length, which enabled her to take the top spot in a time of 1:04.63.

Meanwhile, Watkin's compatriot Lauren Steadman also qualified for the final after finishing in fourth in the opening heat, while Claire Cashmore missed out on a spot in the final.
