Team GB pair miss out on synchronised swimming final at Baku 2015

Team GB duo Jodie Cowie and Genevieve Randall finish 12th in qualifying for the synchronised swimming duets free routine final at the European Games.

Great Britain synchronised swimming duo Jodie Cowie and Genevieve Randall have missed the cut for the duets free routine final at the inaugural European Games.

The pair, both aged 17, finished in 12th place at the Baku Aquatics Centre after recording a score of 75.1677.

Russian Federation's Valeriya Filenko and Daria Kulagina, who were part of the gold medal-winning team at the 2014 World Junior Championships, took top spot in qualification.

There were no real surprises as the Russians came out on top, followed by second and third favourites the Ukraine and Spain, who recorded scores of 87.5333 and 85.7333 respectively.

The final is scheduled to take place on Monday morning.
