Arina Openysheva justifies Michael Phelps comparisons to win gold

Arina Openysheva wins the women's 400m freestyle final to pick up another gold medal for Russia at the European Games.

Arina Openysheva has won another gold for Russia at the European Games by dominating the field in today's 400m freestyle final in Baku.

The highly-rated 16-year-old was compared to Michael Phelps by her coach recently, and the youngster did little to dispel those comparisons by blowing away her opponents.

Openysheva won the gold - her second of the competition this year - by a winning margin of 3.35s after clocking a Games record of 4:08.81 ahead of German Leonie Kullmann in second.

Great Britain's Holly Hibbott missed out on the bronze by just 0.04 seconds after finishing behind Anastasiia Kirpichnikova.

It was Russia's 47th gold of the tournament, and 23rd bronze.
