Russian Federation's Vladislav Kozlov: 'Failure spurred me on'

Russian Federation swimmer Vladislav Kozlov confesses that his failure in the men's butterfly 50m drove him on to succeed in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay.

Russian Federation swimmer Vladislav Kozlov has admitted that he was determined to succeed in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay following his earlier disappointment at the European Games.

Kozlov and his teammates won the gold medal in the event in Baku, and the 18-year-old has confessed that his failure in the men's 50m butterfly spurred him on to win his next competition.

He told reporters: "I was kind of angry about that and I had a competition that evening, so I decided to do my best in the competition that went next. So this is an important gold medal for me."

The Russian Federation have won 51 gold medals at the Games.
