James Guy feeling confident after scooping 400m freestyle bronze

James Guy tells Sports Mole that he's confident of continuing his form throughout the Commonwealth Games after earning a bronze medal last night.

Team England's James Guy is hopeful that he will continue performing well throughout the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after earning a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle final last night.

The 18-year-old, who is competing at his first Commonwealths, earned a place on the podium with a personal best of 3:44.58, behind winner Ryan Cochrane of Canada and Australia's David McKeon.

This morning, Guy qualified sixth-fastest for the the 200m freestyle final, which will take place at Tollcross this evening.

When asked if last night's success has given him a confidence boost, Guy told Sports Mole: "Yeah, it did. Up racing a lot, I thought I missed out on a lot of training, but obviously, I've proved me wrong.

"I've still got the fitness and endurance here. Hopefully I can carry that on through the rest of the week."

Guy will also compete in the 100m butterfly, the 4x200m freestyle relay and the 4x100m medley relay.
