Ning Zetao takes 100m freestyle gold for China

China's Ning Zetao beats Australia's Cameron McEvoy to gold in the 100m freestyle at the World Championships in Kazan.

China's Ning Zetao has grabbed gold for his nation by winning the 100m freestyle final at the World Championships in Kazan.

The 22-year-old edged ahead of favourite Cameron McEvoy of Australia to touch the wall first in 47.84s.

Just 0.11 of a second separated Ning and McEvoy, who scooped silver, while Argentina's Federico Grabich grabbed bronze to round off the podium.

China are currently fourth in the medal table with six medals in total so far.
