Bronte Campbell takes sister Cate's world title in 100m freestyle

Australia's Bronte Campbell snatches her sister Cate's 100m freestyle world title by winning today's final at the World Championships in Kazan.

Australia's Bronte Campbell has snatched the 100m freestyle world title from her older sister Cate after winning gold in the final at the World Championships in Kazan today.

Cate Campbell started the strongest in the field, but she had competition from her sibling and Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom, who won gold in a record-breaking swim in the 100m butterfly earlier this week.

Bronte managed to touch the wall in 52.52s, with Sjostrom claiming silver just 0.18 of a second behind her opponent.

Cate will round off the podium after clocking a bronze-medal time of 52.82s, while the USA's Missy Franklin finished seventh with a 54-second swim.
