Ronnie O'Sullivan has won his fourth snooker World Championship after beating Ali Carter 18-11 in the Crucible final.
The Rocket began the day 10-7 in front and then stormed ahead in the midday session to lead 15-10 before tonight's play.
Frames were exchanged at the start of this evening's action but O'Sullivan then won two on the bounce to wrap up the the result.
It was the 36-year-old's 12th straight win over Carter and his first Crucible title since 2008, where he beat the same opponent.
Immediately following his victory, O'Sullivan announced that he plans on taking a six-month sabbatical from the game.
