Ronnie O'Sullivan advances to Crucible final

Ronnie O'Sullivan will face Ali Carter in the final of the Snooker World Championship after seeing off Matthew Stevens 17-10 at the Crucible in Sheffield.

Three-time champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has progressed to the final of the World Championship after swiftly dispatching Matthew Stevens in this evening's final semi-final session in Sheffield.

The 36-year-old began the session needing two frames for victory and was pegged back by a Stevens century before responding with a 130 break of his own to seal a 17-10 triumph.

He will now face his opponent from his last appearance in Crucible final in 2008, Ali Carter, after the 32-year-old edged out Stephen Maguire 17-12 earlier today.
