Defending champion and world number one Judd Trump has suffered a surprise first-round defeat in the UK Championship at the Barbican in York.
The 23-year-old looked to be in control against world number 50 Mark Joyce, but an uncharacteristic meltdown saw him eventually lose 6-5.
Shaun Murphy, who won the tournament in 2008, is safely through to the next round thanks to a 6-3 victory over Robert Milkins.
Mark Davies will also be in round two courtesy of his 6-1 win over China's Cao Yupeng, but Steve Davis had his 33rd appearance at the tournament cut short with a 6-2 loss against Ali Carter.
Stuart Bingham has progressed as he saw off Jack Lisowski 6-2 and Hong Kong's Marco Fu is also through after he beat Mark Allen 6-3.
