Three-time runner-up Neil Robertson finally wins the Players Championship, beating Barry Hawkins by a 10-5 scoreline in Sunday's final.

Neil Robertson has continue his fine 2021-22 campaign by winning the Players Championship with victory over Barry Hawkins.

The Australian has recently finished as runner-up at the World Grand Prix and won The Masters, the second of those finals being played against Sunday's opponent.

On that occasion, the 40-year-old prevailed by a 10-4 scoreline, and he was equally dominant in Wolverhampton, overcoming losing the opening frame to win 10-5.

Robertson won five successive frames to move 5-1 ahead and although Hawkins reduced the deficit to two, that was as close as he would get to the 2010 world champion.

The same occurred with Hawkins getting back to 7-5, but Robertson responded with a 116 break in frame 13, giving him the platform to take the closing two frames.

Robertson wins this tournament for the first time in his career, improving on finishing as runner-up in 2012, 2013 and 2019 respectively.
