Ed Ling wins silver at World Championships

Great Britain's Ed Ling wins silver in the men's trap at the Shooting World Championships in Spain.

Ed Ling has revealed that he has mixed emotions after winning silver in the men's trap at the Shooting World Championships.

Taunton-based Ling was edged out in a shoot-off by Slovakian Erik Varga after previously missing out on equalling the world record, but the Brit was still pleased to pick up his team's first medal at the event in Spain.

The 31-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I'm highly delighted to win one of the first quotas for GB, but it's mixed with a tinge of disappointment that I missed the 125 world record which I was really after."

Ling's silver medal has earned Team GB one of their quota places at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
