Wakefield Wildcats 22-18 Widnes Vikings

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats record a 22-18 victory over Widnes Vikings at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have triumphed 22-18 over Widnes Vikings to leave Dennis Betts's men rooted to the bottom of the Super League.

The victory sees the Wildcats climb above Bradford Bulls into eighth position.

It was the visitors who took the lead when Rhys Hanbury went over in the sixth minute, before getting up to convert the kick.

However, the home side were level six minutes later when Kyle Amor scored and Paul Sykes kicked over.

The Vikings were back in front just before half time as Hanbury touched down for his second try of the game.

Richie Mathers then scored in the 51st minute, before Paddy Flynn responded six minutes later as the two teams continued to exchange tries.

The home side were helped by the boot of Sykes, who kicked over three times in total.

Tries from Ali Lauitiiti and Danny Kirmond ensured that the Wildcats bagged maximum points at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
