Carl Hayman named Toulon captain

Former New Zealand prop Carl Hayman is appointed Toulon's new captain following Jonny Wilkinson's retirement at the end of last season.

Former New Zealand prop Carl Hayman has been named as Toulon's new captain following the retirement of Jonny Wilkinson.

Wilkinson called time on a glittering 17-year career at the end of last season after guiding Toulon to both the Heineken Cup and the Top 14 title.

Hayman joined the French club in 2010 following a three-year spell with Wilkinson's former club Newcastle Falcons.

The 34-year-old won 45 caps for the All Blacks between 2001 and 2007.
