Sir Clive Woodward: 'England were very composed against Wales'

Sir Clive Woodward praises England's performance following their 21-16 Six Nations victory over Wales.

Sir Clive Woodward has claimed that England's 21-16 victory over Wales at the start of World Cup year is priceless.

Stuart Lancaster's men trailed by 10 points inside the early minutes, but fought back to register only their second win in seven visits to the Millennium Stadium.

However, Woodward believes that England were good value for their victory in Cardiff and praised the performance of young fly-half George Ford.

"England have been very composed. I cannot tell you how big a win that is for England at the start of 2015, and it was thoroughly deserved. George Ford played really well but there are a lot of heroes out there," he told reporters.

"England could have afforded to lose this game as they are going in the right direction but to win at Wales, and play so well, you can't put a price on that."

England will play Wales and Australia in their World Cup group this autumn, with only two teams from the group qualify for the quarter-finals.
