Stuart Lancaster "proud" of his England players

Stuart Lancaster says that he is "proud of the boys" after seeing his England side narrowly beat Ireland 13-10 at Twickenham in the Six Nations.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster has declared that he is "proud of the boys" following his side's narrow 13-10 victory over Ireland at Twickenham.

The win over a previously unbeaten Ireland lifts England into second place in the Six Nations table after three games, tied on four points with three other sides.

"Given the experience of the Ireland team, the form they were in, the quality of the coaching and the players that they have in their team and some of the relative inexperience we have in our team, I'm just so proud of the boys," Lancaster told Sky Sports News following the game.

"It was a proper Test match, two really good sides going at it. I thought Ireland were excellent throughout, scored a try after half time and really had some momentum with them.

"But I thought we showed great maturity in closing out the game and great tries as well so [I am] really, really pleased."

England are back in action on March 9 when they take on Wales.
