Harlequins scrum-half Karl Dickson has been called up to the England squad for the remainder of their Six Nations campaign.
Interim coach Stuart Lancaster has drafted in the 29-year-old as cover for injured London Wasps number nine Joe Simpson.
Dickson is unlikely to make the 22-man squad that faces France in Paris next weekend, with his brother Lee Dickson and Ben Youngs expected to be named as scrum-half options.
Young Wasps lock Joe Launchbury also joins up with the squad to gain international experience and provide cover for Courtney Lawes, who is nursing a shin problem.
"Joe was exceptional in the Under-20 World Cup and has done well in the Wasps academy. He has started the season well and gone into the Saxons," said Lancaster.
"He missed the programme unfortunately because of injury but now he is fit again it is a good opportunity to take a look at him."
France earlier named an unchanged squad from their 17-17 draw with Ireland on Sunday.
