Report: Broken leg may keep Ben Morgan out of World Cup

England number eight Ben Morgan may miss the World Cup after suffering a broken leg, according to reports.

England's Ben Morgan is at risk of missing this year's World Cup after suffering a broken leg, according to reports.

The number eight sustained the injury during Gloucester Rugby's Aviva Premiership clash with Saracens, ruling him out of the upcoming Six Nations.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Morgan is unlikely to play again until July, meaning that it is doubtful he will be fit enough to go on the two-week squad training camp to Pennyhill Park and on the high-altitude training camp in America, putting his World Cup place in serious jeopardy.

The report says that Morgan has had a metal plate and nine screws inserted into his left leg after suffering a spiral fracture and severe ligament damage.

Morgan was named man of the series in the recent Autumn Internationals.
