Ben Morgan expected to miss remainder of season

Ben Morgan's fractured left leg is likely to see him miss the remainder of Gloucester's season and England's upcoming Six Nations campaign.

England number eight Ben Morgan looks likely to miss the whole of this year's Six Nations campaign having fractured his left leg.

The 25-year-old, who has been capped 27 times by the Red Rose, picked up the injury during Gloucester Rugby's 24-23 win over Saracens on Friday night.

Morgan was taken off the field on a stretcher and has since undergone surgery, with the Cherry and Whites saying that Morgan will "commence an appropriate rehabilitation programme over the coming weeks".

It is widely reported that the Bristol-born star will not only miss the Six Nations, which gets underway next month with England's trip to face Wales, but also the remainder of the Aviva Premiership season.

England coach Stuart Lancaster is expected to name his squad for the tournament on January 21.
