Australia hold on to beat Argentina

Australia survive a late comeback from Argentina to hold on for a 32-25 win in the Rugby Championships.

Australia have held on to clinch a 32-25 win over Argentina in the Rugby Championship this afternoon, giving them their second victory of the tournament.

Michael Hooper scored tries at the start of both periods to give Australia a 14-point advantage shortly after the restart, having led 14-7 at the break.

The Wallabies continued to look the more likely to score, and increased their lead when Nick Phipps set up Peter Bethem for their third try of the match.

However, Argentina fought back, with Marcelo Bosch forcing his way over before Joaquin Tuculet added a second after chasing down a kick, leaving the Pumas just four points behind.

Bernard Foley added his fifth penalty of the game late on to leave Australia a converted try ahead with just a few minutes to play, allowing them to hang on for the win, which leaves them third in the standings.
