Wigan Warriors coach Michael Maguire defends his decision to impose a media ban on his players ahead of Saturday's play-off semi-final.

Michael Maguire has defended his decision to impose a media ban on his Wigan Warriors players prior to Saturday's Engage Super League play-off match against Catalan Dragons.

No players were present during a press conference earlier today, as Maguire was instead left to face the awaiting media on his own.

"It's an important week for us," he said. "We just want to make sure that our focus is completely on this game.

"It's a massive game and we want to make sure we're doing everything right."

Defeat will all but end Wigan's chance of reaching the Grand Final at Old Trafford later this year.
