Wigan's Andy Coley hopes to end his career on a "high" as he retires from rugby after the Challenge Cup final.

Andy Coley has confirmed that he will retire from rugby league after Wigan’s clash with Leeds at Wembley in the Challenge Cup final.

The 33-year-old, who joined Wigan from Salford in 2007, has revealed that he will go back to his old job as a quantity surveyor.

"I've waited a long time to play at Wembley," Coley told the club’s official website. "I've been trying for 15 years to get there.

"But I'm retiring this year. I made my mind up in the last week or two and hopefully I can go out on a high."

The prop considered retiring last year but changed his mind at the last minute to sign a new contract under Warriors coach Michael Maguire.

"To be honest, getting beaten by Leeds in last season's quarter-final was the big turning point in my decision to do another year," he added. "Looking back now, it was a great decision.”

The Challenge Cup final between Wigan and Leeds take place at Wembley stadium on Saturday (August 27).
