Tiger Roll wins JCB Triumph Hurdle

Tiger Roll, ridden by Davy Russell, wins the JCB Triumph Hurdle as the Cheltenham Festival enters its final day.

Tiger Roll has edged out Kentucky Hyden to win the JCB Trimph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

The pair were joined in the closing stages by Guitar Pete, but it was Tiger Roll, who was ridden by Davy Russell, who finished strongest in the final furlong.

Russell told Channel 4: "This is only his third start, but Gordon had him right on the button."

Abbyssial, who was being ridden by Ruby Walsh, fell early on in the race and the jockey looked in some discomfort as he was tended to by doctors.
