Tony McCoy wins his second Gold Cup after Synchronised clinched the finish at the Cheltenham Festival.

Synchronised, ridden by Tony McCoy, has won the Gold Cup with bookies' favourite Long Run claiming third place and Kauto Star pulling up in the early stages of the race.

Giant Bolster looked set to take the glory in the final run of the course until McCoy managed to edge ahead and clinch the win by a few lengths.

Long Run, who won the Gold Cup last year, finished behind Giant Bolster in second, while two-time winner Kauto Star was forced to pull up after the left-hand swing towards the open ditch.

Weird Al dropped to the back of the field with less than a circuit to go, leaving Midnight Chase and Time For Rupert first over the fifth from home.

Despite a tight contest on the home stretch, McCoy managed to lead Synchronised to the front of the finish line.
