Russian president Vladimir Putin watches his country's dramatic ice hockey loss to USA on Saturday.

Russian president Vladimir Putin watched his country's dramatic loss to the USA in the men's ice hockey at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi on Saturday.

The USA beat Russia on penalty shots in their Group A preliminary-round game after it was tied at 2-2 at the end of overtime.

TJ Oshie scored the winner at the end of the shootout after Russia had missed their seventh attempt.

Russia had felt aggrieved after they had a goal controversially disallowed.
