The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton accepts an invitation from the All England Club to become an honorary member.

Kate Middleton has continued her keen interest in sport by accepting an honorary membership from the All England Club.

The Duchess of Cambridge is thought to be a keen tennis fan, attended Wimbledon on several occasions last summer and watched Andy Murray win his Olympic final against Roger Federer.

Middleton was granted honorary status earlier today and is reportedly being lined up to take over from the Duke of Kent as club president when the 77-year-old decides to stand down.

A palace spokeswoman said earlier today: "The Duchess was pleased to accept the kind offer, particularly given her interest in tennis."

Former Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick was also granted the same honorary status earlier this week.
