Tony Xia takes swipe at West Brom, Wolves owners?

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia appears to take a swipe at the new Chinese owners of West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has appeared to take a swipe at the Chinese owners of West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers, suggesting that they may have bought the clubs as "fashion toys".

Investment group Yunyi Guokai completed a takeover of Albion earlier today, just weeks after Xia purchased Villa and conglomerate Fosun International became the new owners of Wolves.

Minutes after the announcement of the takeover deal, Xia took to Twitter to reassure Villa fans that his ownership was a 'serious' endeavour.

Xia caused controversy on the social media network earlier this week when he hit out at pundit Ian Holloway, labelling the former Blackpool manager a 'failure'.
