Shane Long breaks down in tears at his wedding while referring to his late father Eamonn in a speech, according to his new bride Kayleah.

West Bromwich Albion and Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long failed to keep his tears at bay while talking about his late father Eamonn during his wedding speech, according to his new wife.

The 26-year-old, whose father passed away from a heart attack when Long was 16, recently married Kayleah Adams at St Mary's Parish Church in Enniskerry.

"Shane's speech was brilliant, but he had everyone in tears," Kayleah told VIP magazine, according to The Mirror. "I have never seen Shane get choked up or upset.

"But during the speech he said, 'There's a certain person who isn't here today that would have been so chuffed to welcome Kayleah into the family'. And then he looked down at me and his eyes welled up and he said to me, 'I can't do it, I can't do it'."

The couple met when they were teenagers.
