A number of Hollywood stars including Tom Hanks and Justin Timberlake expressed their support for the USA football team after they were knocked out of the World Cup in Brazil by Belgium.
While goalkeeper Tim Howard set a tournament record by making 15 saves during the last-16 clash, it was Belgium who sealed a 2-1 victory in extra time to advance to the quarter-finals.
Despite the result, A-list actor Hanks took to Twitter after watching the match to praise USA's goalkeeper by writing: "Tim Howard remains a god. Hanx."
Numerous stars from the entertainment industry, including Rihanna and actress Eva Longoria, also tweeted their support for Jurgen Klinsmann's men.
