Johnny Quinn denies being accident prone

American bobsledder Johnny Quinn denies being accident prone, but vows to take steps to avoid becoming trapped in his Sochi hotel for a third time at the Winter Olympics.

American bobsledder Johnny Quinn has vowed to take steps to avoid becoming trapped in his Sochi hotel for a third time.

The 30-year-old forced his way out of his bathroom by breaking the door last week.

Just days later, he got struck in a lift.

In an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, Quinn was asked if he is traditionally this "accident prone".

Quinn replied: "No, I think it's just a misfortunate situation in both scenarios, now that everybody's safe, and the door's been fixed, the elevator's been fixed, it's kind of something funny to laugh about.

"In the meantime, my teammates are giving me a hard time ... you can make sure that on race day I'll make sure that I shower with the door open and probably take the stairs."

Sochi's four-man bobsleigh event begins on February 22.
