Former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas has died in a single-car accident.

The 36-year-old reportedly lost control of his vehicle on Saturday evening while driving in Nashville, Tennessee. He was taken from the scene by ambulance to the nearby Vanderbilt University Medical Center but was later confirmed as dead by a spokesperson.

Bironas had been ever-present in the NFL, having played nine years for the Titans before he was released by the team earlier this year.

The kicker was a star performer for Tennessee and was able to notch a conversion percentage of 85.7% from field goal attempts across his career.
