Report: Adam Johnson's ex-Sunderland teammates won't visit him in prison

Adam Johnson's former Sunderland teammates will not visit him in prison, according to reports.

Adam Johnson's former Sunderland teammates have agreed not to visit him in prison, according to reports.

Johnson, 28, was given a six-year sentence on Thursday for grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.

According to The Mirror, the ex-Manchester City winger will not be visited by his old Black Cats colleagues, who reportedly do not want to be seen as sympathising with him.

Johnson, who has 12 caps for England, joined the North-East side in 2012, but had his contract terminated by the club in February.

He had started 11 Premier League games for the club this season.
