A teenage girl has claimed that her friend was "excited" after allegedly having a sexual encounter with former Sunderland winger Adam Johnson, a court has heard.
During a police interview, which was played at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday, the teenager told the officers that she was with her friend before and after the girl met Johnson in his Range Rover in January 2015.
The footballer, who was sacked by the Black Cats last week, denies two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Today, the jury heard via a video-recorded interview that when the teenager met her friend after the sexual encounter took place, the alleged victim, who was 15 years old at the time, was "more excited - not excited for something, just excited. In a good mood, really".
The teenager added: "I asked her if anything had happened as I'd seen messages before asking for a bit of a feel."
In the interview, the girl told police that her friend described a sex act that allegedly took place between the pair in the car.
"She seemed excited about it at first but she started to realise what she'd done because he had a girlfriend," the witness told police.
The teenager claimed that she did not believe her friend at first because "he's a footballer, he's famous and she's only 15", but changed her mind after being shown a text message from Johnson, which read: "Just wanted to get your pants off."
Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and a further count of grooming.
