Adam Johnson's teenage victim has reportedly decided against suing the former Sunderland footballer.
The 28-year-old sportsman was found guilty of one charge of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.
Johnson, who was cleared of the charge relating to oral sex, had previously admitted to kissing and grooming the girl last year when she was 15 years old.
It has been reported that the teenager could claim around £1m in compensation, but it is believed that she has no intention of taking further legal action.
According to the Daily Star, the victim told a friend: "I haven't done this for the money. I just wanted people to believe me and for him to realise the hurt and damage he has caused."
Johnson could face up to ten years behind bars and it has been reported that he could be sent to HMP Frankland in Durham, which houses child killers Ian Huntley and Levi Bellfield.
