Andros Townsend has revealed that his girlfriend Hazel O'Sullivan believed that a fine against him on video game Football Manager was real.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger poked fun at his other half by posting a WhatsApp text exchange, in which she thought that the 24-year-old had been fined for not turning up to training.

O'Sullivan is said to have spotted a screengrab of the fine online, but did not realise that it was issued to the virtual version of the footballer.

Before correcting his girlfriend's mistake, Townsend decided to share her blunder with his 295,000 Twitter followers.
